Amaliaplein De Steeg
Design: Ruud-Jan Kokke
In the framework of the renovation of the monumental city hall and city hall square, Ruud-Jan Kokke has designed a new main entrance with ramp, an enlargement of the square and anti-skate facilities against damage to the marble.
Special element is the ‘Runner’. Ruud-Jan invited writer Koos van Zomeren to write down the history of Arnhem in a poetic manner. He had this text lasered from a sheet of stainless steel and illuminate it from the ground.
